I have a TARDIS!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to me!

I got just what I wanted - lots of hugs and kisses from the girls. A card from them both and some crafty stuff.

Then I got this *points up* from Rickard/the girls along with a black tee that says "The Angels have the Phone Box" which is also (of course) from Doctor Who.

The TARDIS is a 4-port USB-hub that lights up when I connect something and it even makes the "whorp-whorp" noise. It is so awesome!

I'm a winner!

Hurrah! I won a give away at Lilla Lotta today! She was giving away some cotton ribbon with Red Riding Hood and the wolf on it and I won a 1 meter piece.

I took the opportunity to place an order with her as well for 5 more ribbons. I love her illustrations. Check out her Etsy store! It's filled with goodies.

Kind and thoughtful

An afternoon last week I heard a mysterious thumping/clunking coming from Isabel's room.

A few hours later she came into my sewing room and gave me this:

At the Seashore ...

Last night I sewed up two Seashore dresses for the girls.

Almost done
(Taken with my phone late last night)

This afternoon I had them try the dresses on.

Too tight in the chest and tummy on both of them, and the armscye was way too high and yet the straps were a bit short.
Not much right there.

I took out the side seams 1/4" which gave me about 1" extra width. I hope that's enough.

Turned out though that I had made some alterations to my machine and the needle was not in the right position so my machine plate measurements were a bit off, which would explain some of the tightness.

Sofia's dress is done so I'll have her try it on and see what the results are. Only then I'll alter Isabel's.

Found while browsing

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
for children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Pretty much sums up my attitude towards housekeeping.

KCWC Day 3

I went to the fabric store during my lunch hour yesterday to get buttons for Sofia's coat.

Came home and Rickard had dinner ready and then my parents came for coffee.

When I brought the coat up to my sewing room I was sure I had the buttons in the pocket of the coat but after finishing the hem I searched for them and they were gone.

I had taken them downstairs to show my mom and Sofia had picked the white buttons (I bought brown too but she didn't like them) but I couldn't find them anywhere.

So instead I mucked around on my computer and then went downstairs to have coffee with Rickard.

Just as I was going to bed I had a final look in the sewing room and found the buttons in the trash bin.

They must have fallen out of the coat when I turned it upside down to hem it.

Thus endeth my KCWC day 3 without much to show for it.

Senile

bild.JPG

This morning before work I drove to the convenience store to get lunch. I also bought two cheese rolls for breakfast and one roll to eat with my lunch salad.
I rounded it off with a bottle of yoghurt to have with breakfast.

When I sat down at 9 to drink the yoghurt, the bottle was opened and only half of it was left.

And I have absolutely NO recollection of me opening the bottle. At all.

So the question is - did I buy an opened bottle at the store and neither I nor the clerk noticed?

Or did I open it and drink it without remembering it?

Scary either way.
